Ecommerce Google Ads in Coimbatore: Shopping, Performance Max and Product Feeds That Sell
Ecommerce Google Ads puts your products, with photo, price and store name, in front of shoppers on Google Search, the Shopping tab, YouTube and partner sites. For an online store in Coimbatore or Tiruppur, the work has three layers: a clean Google Merchant Center product feed, purchase tracking that passes the real order value, and Shopping or Performance Max campaigns judged against a break-even ROAS worked out from your own margins. We quote our fee after a free audit of your store, feed and tracking. Google bills your ad budget to you directly.
Selling online is different from collecting enquiries. A clinic needs a phone call; a store needs a paid order that is not returned. That changes what we measure, how the account is built and which numbers count as success.
This page covers only product-led advertising: feeds, Shopping placements, Performance Max and return on ad spend. Looking for everything else we run in paid search? The Google Ads agency in Coimbatore page has the full list, and our home page covers SEO and social media too.

Which online sellers around Coimbatore is this for?
The region has an unusual mix of sellers, and each needs a different set-up:
- D2C brands on Shopify or WooCommerce. skincare, snacks, home décor and lifestyle labels selling across India from a Coimbatore warehouse.
- Textile and saree stores. Coimbatore cotton, Kanchipuram-style silks and handloom, where colour, fabric and size variants multiply fast.
- Tiruppur apparel and knitwear labels. brands moving from export or wholesale into direct online sales, often with hundreds of size and colour combinations.
- Pumps, motors and engineering products. monoblock pumps, submersibles and spares sold online to farmers, plumbers and contractors, where buyers compare specifications such as HP, head and phase before they buy.
- Wet grinders and kitchen appliances. high-consideration items where warranty, delivery area and EMI matter in the ad.
If your sale finishes on a phone call or a site visit rather than a checkout, our page on Google Ads lead generation in Coimbatore fits better. Running a repair or home-service firm instead? Local Service Ads in Coimbatore explains the call-first option.
Step 1: build a Merchant Center feed Google can trust
Shopping and Performance Max both read your products from Google Merchant Center. A weak feed means weak ads, whatever the bid. Before any campaign spends, we work through the feed in this order.
Connect the store and verify the domain
We link your Shopify, WooCommerce or custom store to Merchant Center, verify and claim the website, and enter shipping and return policies that match what your checkout actually charges. A mismatch between feed price and landing-page price is one of the most common reasons for disapproval.
Fix the required attributes
Every product needs a unique ID, title, description, link, image link, availability, price and brand, plus a GTIN where the product has one. Apparel sold in India should also carry colour, size, gender and age group so that variants group correctly. We check each against Google's product data specification.
Rewrite titles the way shoppers search
Feed titles are the closest thing Shopping has to keywords. We put the words buyers type first: "Women's Cotton Kurti, Straight Fit, Navy, Size M" rather than a brand-only name. For pumps: "1 HP Openwell Submersible Pump, Single Phase, 230V" so the specification matches the search.
Add custom labels for margin and season
We tag products with custom labels such as high, medium or low margin, bestseller, clearance and festive range. These labels let us split budgets later without rebuilding the account.
Step 2: track the order value, not just the order
A campaign optimising for "purchases" treats a ₹299 sock pack and a ₹6,500 silk saree as equal. We set up the Google Ads purchase conversion so it passes the order value and currency, avoid counting the same order twice when a buyer refreshes the thank-you page by sending the order ID, and turn on enhanced conversions where your store supports it. On Shopify we use the official Google and YouTube app connection or a Google Tag Manager set-up, never both, because running two tags is the usual cause of doubled revenue in reports.
We then compare a week of Google Ads purchase data with your store's own order report. If the two differ by more than a few orders, we fix tracking before increasing budget.
Step 3: choose between Shopping and Performance Max
Both campaign types use the same feed but behave differently.
| Question | Standard Shopping | Performance Max |
|---|---|---|
| Where ads appear | Search results and the Shopping tab | Across Google's inventory, from Search and Shopping to video and partner sites |
| Control over search terms | High: the search terms report is visible and negatives can be added | Lower: Google decides placements; brand exclusions and account-level negatives are limited |
| Creative needed | Feed only | Feed plus images, logos, headlines, descriptions and ideally video |
| Data needed to work well | Works on a small budget with manual or simple bidding | Learns faster with steady conversion volume |
| Best fit | Stores testing which products sell, tight budgets, specification-led products | Stores with reliable purchase tracking and enough monthly orders to learn from |
Google describes how Performance Max chooses channels in its Performance Max help article, and how Shopping placements work in About Shopping ads.
Our usual path for a new store: start with a standard Shopping campaign split by custom label, collect search-term and product data for four to six weeks, then add Performance Max for the proven product groups once tracking is confirmed. Smaller catalogues of specification-led products, like pumps and motors, often stay on Shopping longer because the search terms are so specific.
Step 4: set a ROAS target from your own margin
ROAS (return on ad spend) is revenue divided by ad cost. A "good" ROAS is not a universal number; it is whatever leaves profit after product cost, shipping, payment fees and returns. We work out your break-even point before choosing a target.
Example (illustrative, not a client result): break-even ROAS for a saree store
Assumptions for a Coimbatore saree store:
- Average order value: ₹2,400
- Product cost: 60% of price, so gross margin is ₹960
- Shipping, packaging and payment gateway fee: ₹180 per order
- Contribution per order before ads: ₹960 − ₹180 = ₹780
- Break-even ROAS: ₹2,400 ÷ ₹780 = 3.08, or about 308%
Now add returns. If 10% of orders come back and you lose the outbound shipping on each, expected contribution per order falls to (0.9 × ₹780) − (0.1 × ₹180) = ₹702 − ₹18 = ₹684. Break-even ROAS on booked revenue rises to ₹2,400 ÷ ₹684 = 3.51, about 351%. A campaign showing "300% ROAS" in Google Ads would be losing money on every order.
That is why we load your real return rate into the target, and why Target ROAS bidding only goes on once a Search or Shopping campaign has at least 15 conversions in the past 30 days, the minimum Google lists for those campaign types.
Step 5: run the weekly product review
Once live, the routine centres on products rather than keywords:
- Feed diagnostics: new disapprovals, price mismatches and out-of-stock items still receiving clicks.
- Product performance: items with spend but no sales over a set window move to a low-priority group or are excluded.
- Search terms: in Shopping campaigns, irrelevant terms such as "free pattern", "wholesale price list" or "second hand" are added as negatives.
- Margin groups: budget moves toward high-margin labels when they hold ROAS above break-even.
- Seasonal timing: Diwali, Pongal and wedding-season ranges are labelled and given their own budget two to three weeks before demand peaks.
Reporting cadence and account reviews for all clients sit on the Google Ads management in Coimbatore page. Shoppers who browsed a product and left are best brought back with dynamic ads, covered in Google Ads remarketing in Coimbatore page.
What does the free store and feed audit look at?
- Merchant Center health. account warnings, disapproved items, missing GTINs and policy issues
- Feed quality. titles, product types, variants and custom labels
- Tracking accuracy. purchase value, duplicate tags and order-ID deduplication
- Campaign fit. whether Shopping, Performance Max or both suit your catalogue size and order volume
- Break-even ROAS. worked out with you from your margins and return rate
- Landing pages. price, stock, delivery area and return policy visible on mobile
You keep the written findings whether or not you hire us. After the audit, we quote our fee in writing based on catalogue size, number of campaigns and how much feed and tracking repair is needed.
Why work with Xtrodinry on ecommerce ads?
We are a new Coimbatore agency, so we have no ecommerce client results to show yet, and we will not invent any. What we offer instead is method and transparency:
- Your accounts stay yours. Merchant Center, Google Ads and Analytics remain in your business's name; we are added as users.
- Margin-first targets. We agree the break-even ROAS with you before any target is set.
- Feed work included in the plan. We do not treat the feed as somebody else's problem.
- No sales promises. We commit to careful set-up, weekly reviews and honest reports. Google's auction and your market decide the rest.
Questions online sellers ask about Shopping ads
Yes. Creating a Merchant Center account and uploading products costs nothing, and approved products can appear in Google's free product listings. You only pay when you run ads, such as Shopping or Performance Max campaigns, and you pay Google for those clicks directly.
For a new store or a tight budget, we usually begin with standard Shopping because you can see search terms and add negatives. Performance Max suits stores that already have accurate purchase tracking and a steady flow of orders, because it relies on that data to choose placements.
You send product data to Merchant Center, link it to Google Ads and create a campaign. When someone searches for a product you sell, Google matches the search to your feed and may show your product with image, price and store name. Each click is charged; a product that is only seen costs nothing.
No universal figure exists. It depends on your margin, shipping cost and return rate. A brand with high returns, which is common in apparel, needs a higher ROAS just to break even. Work out your own break-even figure first, as in the worked example above, and set targets above it.
Use either Shopify's Google and YouTube app or a Google Tag Manager set-up, not both. Pass the order value, currency and order ID, then check a week of Google Ads purchases against your Shopify orders report before trusting the numbers for bidding.
The ones we see most in audits are duplicate purchase tags that double reported revenue, brand-only product titles, feed prices that differ from the website, ROAS targets set without knowing the break-even point, and leaving out-of-stock products in campaigns.
