Local Service Google Ads in Coimbatore: Getting Your Phone Ringing Without LSA
LSA isn't offered in India yet, so here's how we get local service businesses calls from Google: Search ads with call assets, location assets, call-only setups (now moving to call assets, as Google retires call-only ads), lead form assets, and Maps and Performance Max store goals. Each is a standard Google Ads feature an Indian account can use today, tuned to your service area and the hours someone can answer the phone.
Google Ads for local service businesses in Coimbatore has to be built around phone calls, because that is how trades and local services take work. Trades new to advertising can start with the basics on our Google Ads agency in Coimbatore page. Everything else we offer is listed on the Xtrodinry home page. If someone else already runs your account and you want to know how ours would be handled week to week, see how we manage Google Ads accounts.

Are Local Services Ads available in India?
Not at the moment. On 18 October 2026 we opened Google's own Local Services Help page, Getting started with Local Services Ads, and read its country selector. It lists eleven countries: Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. India is not one of them, so a Coimbatore plumber or AC technician cannot sign up for the pay-per-lead, Google-verified listing that shows at the top of results in those markets.
Google is also folding Local Services Ads into Performance Max with pay-per-lead goals. Its help page on that change starts with selected US categories in August 2026 and moves non-US accounts in 2027. That page is about existing markets; it says nothing about a launch here, so we do not plan around one.
If someone offers you a “Google Guaranteed” badge for an Indian business, ask them to show it on Google's country list first. We will not sell you something Google does not offer here.
Which Coimbatore businesses is this for?
Businesses where the customer wants to talk to a person, today, and the work happens at their door or at your counter:
- Home services: AC servicing, plumbing, electrical work, pest control, water purifier and appliance repair, packers and movers.
- Vehicle care: two-wheeler and car service centres, puncture and towing help, car wash and detailing.
- Personal and local services: salons, driving schools, tuition centres, tailoring, photo studios.
- Clinics and practitioners, within Google's healthcare ad rules for the service in question.
What they share is a short decision: a phone call, a quick price check, then a visit. Selling products online is a different job, covered on our Shopping and feed ads page.
The call-led setup we build in place of LSA
Five standard Google Ads features, each available to Indian advertisers, do most of what a Local Services listing would do. We pick from them based on whether you have a shop customers visit or a van that goes to customers.
Search ads with call assets
A call asset adds your number, or a tap-to-call button on mobile, under a normal Search ad. Google charges a tap on it the same as a headline click, a standard cost per click. The number has to be a real business line that Google can verify; vanity and premium-rate numbers are not accepted. We add your business name at account level, put the same number on your website so verification passes, and attach call assets to every ad group that sells a service.
Your address and map pin through location assets
Linking your Google Business Profile lets ads show your address, a Call button and directions. Google says these locations can appear on Search and also beside or above results inside Google Maps. For a shop-front business in Gandhipuram or RS Puram this matters more than any headline, because people searching “near me” often check the map first.
What happened to call-only ads
Call-only ads, the format that showed just a number and a Call button, are being retired. Google removed the option to create new ones in February 2026, and existing ones stop showing in February 2027. Any account we take over that still runs them gets moved to responsive search ads with call assets, kept live side by side until the new ads are approved and taking calls.
Lead form assets for after-hours searches
Someone with a leaking pipe at 11 pm still searches. When nobody can pick up, a form inside the ad collects a name and number for a callback next morning. How we route and score those enquiries is on our enquiry-led campaigns page.
Performance Max for store goals, only when it fits
This campaign type promotes your locations across Search, Maps and YouTube and bids for local actions such as call clicks and direction requests. Google's optimisation guide suggests at least five business locations for local actions and ten for store visits. Most Coimbatore service firms run one or two branches, so we usually start with Search plus location assets and keep this for multi-branch chains.
Drawing the service radius around Coimbatore
An LSA profile asks for a service area. In Google Ads the equivalent is location targeting, and the default is wider than most trades want. We change two things.
- Radius or named areas, not the whole district. We map how far your technician can reach in about 45 minutes of city traffic. For a team based near Peelamedu that might cover Saravanampatti and Singanallur but not Mettupalayam. Areas you never serve are excluded outright.
- “Presence” instead of “Presence or interest”. Google's default also reaches people who have only shown interest in Coimbatore, such as someone in Chennai planning a move. A home visit needs the caller to actually be here, so we switch to people located in, or regularly in, your area.
Google itself notes that location signals are a best effort and never 100% accurate, which is why we still read the call log for out-of-area callers.
Matching ad hours to the hours someone answers
An unanswered call is a paid click with nothing to show for it. LSA penalises slow responders in its ranking; ordinary Google Ads does not, so the discipline has to come from us and from you.
- Call assets get their own schedule, so the number only shows while the phone is staffed. Outside those hours the ad can still run with a form.
- Call reporting places a Google forwarding number in the ad. India is on Google's list of supported countries, with a footnote that on some calls caller ID shows a Google number rather than the customer's. Tell whoever answers, so they do not ignore it as spam.
- Call recording for AI-scored leads currently covers only calls where both people are in the US or Canada. Here we judge quality by call length and by asking your team which callers booked.
Worked example: what a booked job costs when calls drive the work
Example (illustrative, not a client result): an AC service firm, one month
- Average daily budget ₹800, so the month is capped near ₹800 × 30.4 = ₹24,320.
- Assumed cost per click ₹16: ₹24,320 ÷ 16 = 1,520 clicks.
- Assumed 7% of clicks tap to call: 1,520 × 0.07 ≈ 106 calls, so each call costs about ₹24,320 ÷ 106 ≈ ₹229.
- Assumed 65% are answered and last over a minute: 106 × 0.65 ≈ 69 real conversations.
- Assumed one in three conversations books a visit: 69 ÷ 3 = 23 jobs, about ₹24,320 ÷ 23 ≈ ₹1,057 per booked job.
Now suppose 20 of those 106 calls rang out because the line was busy at lunch: 20 × ₹229 ≈ ₹4,580 of the month went on calls nobody heard.
Every rate above is an assumption chosen to make the arithmetic easy to follow. Before launch, Keyword Planner gives a rough bid range; once ads run, the account's own data replaces it. The point of the exercise is the last line: answering hours often move cost per job more than bids do.
Search terms that mean “I need someone today”
Local service searches are short and often typed in a hurry, sometimes in Tanglish. We group them by urgency rather than by product:
- Urgent: “AC not cooling”, “plumber near me”, “electrician open now”, “bike puncture shop”.
- Area-led: a service plus a locality, such as “pest control Vadavalli” or “AC service Kuniyamuthur”.
- Planned: “AC annual maintenance price”, “house shifting charges Coimbatore”.
Urgent groups get the highest bids and the strictest call hours. Searches for jobs, training, salaries or spare parts are blocked from day one, since a trade business attracts a lot of them.
Our own checks, dated 18 October 2026
- Google's Local Services Help country selector: eleven countries, India absent (listed above).
- Google autocomplete for India suggested “local service ads india” and “google local service ads india”, so local owners are clearly asking the same question.
- Typing “call only ads” brought up “call only ads are being deprecated”, a sign advertisers are noticing the change.
- “Google ads for local service business” appeared under several different starting phrases, while adding “Coimbatore” returned no suggestions at all.
These are free, public signals, not search volumes. They shaped the wording of this page, not any forecast.
Why Xtrodinry for call-led local ads?
We are based in Panappatti and know how far “Coimbatore” stretches on a map. We are new, so there are no case studies to show; you get the set-up above, written down, and a monthly call log you can check against your own phone.
Local service businesses ask us
No. Google's Local Services Help lists eleven countries, mostly in Europe plus the US and Canada, and India is not among them as of 18 October 2026. We will update this page if that changes.
LSA charges per lead and ranks providers on factors such as reviews, responsiveness and proximity, without keywords. Regular Google Ads charges per click and runs on keywords, ad text and bids. Only the second is open to Indian businesses.
New ones cannot be created since February 2026, and existing ones stop receiving impressions in February 2027. Google's replacement is a responsive search ad carrying a call asset.
With call reporting switched on, the ad shows a Google forwarding number that rings through to your line, so calls can be counted. Some callers may then appear on your phone under a Google number.
For Search ads with a call button, no. To show your address, distance and a map pin through location assets, yes; the profile has to be linked to the ad account.
As far as you can realistically send someone, and no further. We set a radius or a list of localities from your travel time, then trim it using where real callers turn out to be.
If the call asset is scheduled to your working hours, the number simply stops showing after closing time. A lead form asset can take the enquiry instead, for a callback next morning.
Want your number in front of people nearby?
Tell us your service, your area and the hours your phone is staffed. We will check your Business Profile, your call set-up and any running ads, then send written notes on what we would change.
