Google Ads Remarketing in Coimbatore: Reach Past Visitors Again, With Their Consent

Quick answer

Remarketing shows your ads again to people who already visited your website, watched your YouTube videos or are on your customer list, while they browse Google Search, YouTube and partner sites. Google Ads now calls these lists "your data" segments. For a Coimbatore business, doing it well means building audiences in GA4 by intent (for example, price-page visitors in the last 14 days), capping how often each person sees an ad, and collecting data only with consent through Consent Mode v2 and a clear privacy notice that respects India's DPDP Act. We name a fee only after reviewing your tags and audiences for free; clicks and impressions are billed by Google to your own account.

Most visitors leave a website without calling, buying or filling a form. Remarketing gives you a second, cheaper chance with people who already know your name. Done carelessly, it also follows people around the internet until they are annoyed, and collects data you may not have the right to use.

This page explains how we build remarketing that is selective, measured and privacy-aware. Readers comparing agencies can find our complete paid search offer on the Google Ads agency in Coimbatore page, and the rest of what we do starts at the Xtrodinry home page.

Is remarketing the same as retargeting?

In everyday use, yes. Both mean advertising to people who have interacted with you before. Some marketers use "retargeting" for ads driven by website cookies and "remarketing" for email or customer-list re-engagement, but Google Ads uses "remarketing", now relabelled "your data", for both. What matters is the source of the audience and the consent behind it.

Which audiences do we build, and from what data?

  1. GA4 audiences from your website

We link GA4 to Google Ads and build audiences around intent, not just "all visitors". GA4 allows up to 100 audiences on a standard property and a membership duration of up to 540 days, as described in Google's GA4 audiences guide. Typical starting set:

    AudienceRuleMembership
High-intent visitorsViewed pricing, contact or "book a visit" page, no conversion14 days
Product viewersViewed a product or service page twice or more30 days
Cart or form abandonersStarted checkout or form, did not finish7 days
Past convertersBought or enquired180 days, used mainly as an exclusion
Engaged readersSpent two minutes or more on blog or guide pages60 days

Shorter windows for high-intent visitors keep the message timely; longer windows suit slow decisions like admissions, machinery or property.

  2. Customer Match from your own customer list

Customer Match lets you upload emails or phone numbers of people who have given them to you, for example past buyers or enquiry leads. Google hashes and matches them to signed-in users. Memberships expire after 540 days, so we set a monthly refresh. Only data collected with clear consent goes in, as Google's Customer Match policy requires.

  3. YouTube and Display viewers

People who watched your videos, subscribed or visited your channel can form audiences without any website tag. We use these for YouTube follow-ups and for Display ads across partner sites and apps.

Which campaigns use these audiences?

  • Display remarketing. image ads on partner websites and apps, best for reminders and offers.
  • Dynamic remarketing. ads that show the exact product or service someone viewed, built from your Merchant Center feed. Detailed feed work is on our ecommerce Google Ads in Coimbatore page.
  • YouTube remarketing. short videos, such as a factory walk-through, a doctor explaining a procedure or a campus tour, shown to past visitors.
  • Search with your data. your audiences layered onto Search campaigns so bids rise when a past visitor searches again, or as observation lists for reporting.
  • Demand Gen and Performance Max signals. audiences supplied as signals so Google finds similar people. Note that Smart Bidding campaigns may automatically use Customer Match lists unless you opt out, which Google explains on its Customer Match page.

How often should someone see your ad?

Too often is the commonest remarketing mistake. Google's frequency capping lets Display and Video campaigns limit impressions per person per day, week or month.

Example (illustrative, not a client result): frequency for a coaching centre

Assumptions for a Coimbatore coaching centre:

  • High-intent audience: 4,000 people in a 30-day list
  • Display remarketing budget: ₹500 per day
  • Assumed cost per 1,000 impressions: ₹60

Impressions bought per day: ₹500 ÷ ₹60 × 1,000 = about 8,333. Over 30 days that is about 250,000 impressions spread across 4,000 people, roughly 62 ads per person in a month, or two a day, every day. Few parents want to see an admission banner 62 times.

With a cap of 3 impressions per person per week (about 13 per month), the most this audience can absorb is 4,000 × 13 = 52,000 impressions, costing about ₹3,120 a month at the assumed rate. The remaining budget is better spent growing the audience through Search, rather than hammering the same people.

We also exclude converters, set an end date on offer-specific creatives, and rotate at least three ad versions so the message does not go stale.

Remarketing works best as a layer on top of campaigns that bring new visitors. Enquiry-led firms usually start with our lead generation campaigns. Nearby call-led trades can look at Local Service Ads. Every account, whatever the mix, follows the weekly and monthly account management routine.

Why Xtrodinry for remarketing?

We are a new agency in Panappatti with no remarketing case studies yet, and we will not make any up. What you get:

  • Selective audiences. Lists built on intent and recency, not one giant "all visitors" list.
  • Privacy built in. Consent Mode, consent lines and list hygiene are part of the set-up, not an extra.
  • Your accounts, your data. GA4, Google Ads and customer lists stay under your business.
  • No promises on sales. Set-up quality and plain reporting are on us; whether people buy is up to them.
FAQ

Remarketing and privacy: your questions answered

For most purposes, yes. Both mean showing ads to people who have interacted with your business before. Google Ads uses the word remarketing, now shown as "your data" segments in the interface.

A Google tag or GA4 adds visitors to audience lists based on rules you set, such as pages viewed. You can also upload a customer list or use YouTube viewers. Google then shows your ads to people on those lists across Search, YouTube, Display and Gmail, within the frequency and consent limits you set.

Link GA4 to Google Ads, turn on Google signals and personalised advertising where consent allows, create intent-based audiences in GA4, wait until they are large enough to serve, then add them to a Display, YouTube or Demand Gen campaign with a frequency cap and converter exclusions.

It is Google's way of passing each visitor's cookie consent choice to its tags, including the ad_user_data and ad_personalization signals. Google requires it for personalised ads to users in the EEA and UK. For India-only audiences it is not yet required by Google, but we recommend it as good practice ahead of DPDP Act duties.

Yes. It covers personal data such as emails and phone numbers used for ads and follow-up. Most business obligations under the DPDP Rules apply from May 2027, including clear consent notices and deletion on request. Check the official MeitY texts and take legal advice for your case.

Prepare a CSV with consented emails or phone numbers in Google's template format, upload it in the Audience manager, and let Google hash and match it. Refresh it regularly, because memberships expire after 540 days.

Standard website remarketing, dynamic remarketing with products or services viewed, YouTube remarketing, Customer Match from your own lists, and your data segments on Search ads. Many accounts also use these audiences as signals in Performance Max and Demand Gen.
